Top of Utah Half Marathon

Saturday I ran my 3rd half marathon. In March I asked my friend Elissa to sign up with me. She started training, and I just couldn't convince myself to start running again. So 6 weeks before the race Tim told her to call me and make me go running. She called me and I finally started to run. I didn't think I would be ready to run 13.1 miles in time for the race. I finished with a better time than I thought I would, 2:07:07. It is my slowest time, but I was just happy that I finished. I love the course and it was fun to run with a friend. The best is always to see my cute little family cheering at the finish line. Kayli and Tyler made me a cute sign they held up... Go Mom! Mommy Runner! So cute. Thanks Tim and Elissa for getting me running again. It is addicting. I am contemplating possibly trying a full marathon next June...we'll see.

We did it! This was Elissa's first Half Marathon. She did awesome!

Yes, another year older...

I had a great birthday yesterday. Tim had stayed up after I went to bed the night before and decorated the inside of my van with streamers, balloons, flags, and wrote on my windows. I loved it. I drove around with it all decorated all day! Tyler and Kayli were both gone to school, and Zach went to play at Grandma's house. I went to lunch with some friends to Cafe Rio. It was great company and delicious food. Then I went shopping, amazingly enough I didn't buy anything, but still had a great time. Then we went to dinner to the Cheesecake Factory. It was so yummy. It was hard to decide what desserts to try, but we picked two and brought them home to share. Absolutely delicious. The kids decided that's where they want to go on their Birthdays! It was a nice day with lots of birthday wishes, texts and phone calls.

Back to School!

Summer break is over and I am not sure where the last 11 weeks have gone. We had a fun, fun summer and I am not sure I am ready to tackle the whole nightly "homework" thing already. The kids lucked out with GREAT teachers this year. Kayli started school Monday and she is in 3rd grade and has a brand new teacher, Mrs. Richardson. This is her first year teaching, and Kayli said she's really nice and is excited to go back tomorrow.

It's hard to believe Kayli is in 3rd grade...she's such a beautiful little girl!

Kayli was full of nerves, but she had a smile on her face when I left her in her classroom.

Tyler started Tuesday and is in 1st grade. So lot's of "new" for him. We will have to see how he adjusts to going to school all day, and being away from his mom so long. He has such an amazing teacher this year, Mrs. Wilkins. She has been teaching a very long time, and she LOVES to teach, LOVES first grade and LOVES the kids. He wanted to ride the bus on his first day, so I met them at the school to make sure he got where he needed to be and make sure he was Ok. When I got to the school, he was crying and wanted to go home with me. I knew as soon as he saw his sweet teacher and got into class he would be just fine. I did have a few "mommy moments" this morning making his first school lunch, and leaving him in his classroom, but I know when he gets off the bus today he will be happy and I know he will love school. We are all excited about this new school year!

Our 1st grader...Tyler

Tyler with his nervous unsure smile...love this boy!

Kayli and Ty (Kayli's 2nd day, Tyler's 1st day...Kayli is so good to make sure Tyler lines up where he should, get's on the right bus, and memorizes his lunch number...so sweet.

Copper Mine

Grandpa Randy and Grandma ReNae came down yesterday and we all went to the Kennecott/Bingham Canyon Copper Mine together. The boys were excited to see the HUGE trucks. It was all pretty amazing, and we learned a lot about what they do and how they do it. We were hoping to get a bit closer to the massive trucks they drive. Maybe just a short test drive or atleast sit in the drivers seat. But we just had to look at them from a distance.

Grandpa and Grandma with Kayli Tyler and Zach standing by one of the massive tires used on the trucks. Each tire costs $25,000 and each truck has 6 of them. They only last about 9 months.

The trucks are 23 feet tall and can carry from 255 to 360 tons of rock. The driver sits 18 feet off the ground (2 stories high) while driving. This is as close as we could get to one. They drive up and down the roads at 15 miles an hour. Pretty amazing!

Sprinklers, Water Balloons,Trampoline and Mud = FUN!

One afternoon last week I put the sprinkler up on the net post and filled up a bunch of water balloons for the kids so they could bounce and throw the water balloons on the tramp. it sure took me a lot longer to fill them all than it took for them to pop them all. Then they wanted to play with the water in the sandbox. They had so much fun for hours playing in the muddy sand.

The most adorable shoes!

Kayli went to stay at my sister Jenn's house for a few days up in North Logan. She had taken all the girls shopping when she sent me pics of some shoes they had found that Kayli wanted soooo badly. They have Kayli written all over them! Lot's and lot's of Diamonds and Bling! Things Kayli loves most. I couldn't resist so I told her to buy them for her. I had to post pictures of them cause they are the most adorable shoes I have ever seen in children's sizes, these are a size 1 and they came even smaller.

This trip to Logan was soo much fun for Kayli. Her highlight and most favorite part was the bus that they could get on right by their house and ride pretty much anywhere in Logan. Kayli and her cousins went shopping, took a picnic to eat on the outside tables of McDonalds, played dress-up with the shoes in a shoe store and got asked to not "play dress-up" there. Went to Hobby Lobby and got asked to not play with the flowers, and walked around the Mall. It was a lot of fun for her, I don't blame her for not wanting to come home. She had her older cousins to hang out with and do all these fun things she can't do here. Thanks Jo, Kit and Tracy for showing Kayli a great time!
