Legoland, Sea World & the Beach!

We just got back from our family vacation to California. We spent 2 days at Legoland, 1 day at Sea World and 2 days swimming in the pool and playing on the Beach. We stayed at The Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort, which was a very nice place to stay. It was so fun to get away with our kids, it was hard to come home! We planned to only spend one day at Legoland, but one day just wasn't enough for us, so we went back a second day. It was just an amazing place. We all loved it and had so much fun. Tim has loved Lego's since he was a young boy and Kayli and Tyler do as well, so it was the perfect place for us. The rides were fun and it was amazing to see everything made out of Legos. Sea World was great as well. We went to a lot of shows and saw all the sea life. Kayli & Tyler's favorite part was the Shamu show called "Believe." Zach's had to be Sesame Street Bay of Play. Such a cute part of the park! Zach's highlight was getting to meet "Elmo"! His excitement when he saw Elmo was priceless. Zach was actually able to ride on all the rides in that area, so that was fun. The rest of the time we spent at the hotel swimming in the pool or playing on the Beach. Tyler and Kayli loved chasing and running away from the waves. Zach was afraid of the waves at first but got used to them as long as we wasn't in them. We all had a great time playing in the sand and enjoying the beach together. We took over 300 pictures, here is just a few. Enjoy the pictures!

Night out with Kayli...

Tim and I decided it would be fun for the Kayli and Tyler (and Zach when he is older) to have a night out individually with us once a month (or so). Saturday was Kayli's night. She chose to go to dinner at Noodles and Company and then she wanted to go to Color Me Mine to pick some ceramics to paint. She chose a heart shaped jewelry box. This was such a perfect activity for her. She loved it, and she did a really good job and had a lot of fun. It was fun to spend time with just Kayli for a night. Tyler already has his night planned and can't wait.

Swingin' in "The Barn"

I took Kayli up to North Logan this weekend for my niece Jessi's Baptism. It was so nice and Jessi looked beautiful in her white dress. After the baptism and family get together we all went to my uncle's barn in Smithfield to swing off the loft. This was Kayli's first time. She was a little nervous, but didn't hesitate and went for it. She loved it and wanted to keep doing it. The best part about this was having the whole family together. Jenn was here with her kids and so all the cousins got to be together (except I left the boys home with Tim). Later the kids played in the sprinkler, made up plays, and had a cook-out. Great day!!!

Kayli!

We even convinced my mom to take her turn. But it wasn't easy!

School's Out!

Kayli is officially on summer break! She has loved her 1st grade year. She had a fantastic teacher, Mrs. Barbano. It will be hard to find as great a teacher as she has had this year. Kayli was lucky to have several of her friends in her class and she made a lot more. For me, it has been fun volunteering in her class this year, there are a lot of cute kids in her class.

I wanted to post a picture of the gift I made for Kayli's teacher. It turned out really cute...I filled it with things a teacher would use in a classroom and had a short saying for each one....for example: a highlighter and wrote for being the hightlight of my year, crayons-for helping me be creative, calculator- for making the things I learned add up, pencil- for help me make the "write" choices, etc. I had about 15 different things in the bucket. It was fun to come up with all the fun things to put into it.

I volunteered to help Kayli's class at her school's "Field Day." The kids had so much fun and they had lots of different water activities and games. Fun way to end the school year.

Memorial Day Fun!

Monday we pretty much spent the whole day outside. Tim and I did some yard work and got ready for the BBQ we were having that night. The kids wanted to run through the sprinkler so I got it out for them, it wasn't really warm enough, but they got soaked and thought it was fun. Then I took the kids to the dollar store and bought some airplane/gliders for them to play with (thanks Myrna for the idea). We came home and they decorated theirs with markers, then we went outside to fly them. They were so much fun, so I ran back to the store and bought a bunch more for the cousins that were coming later that afternoon. I love that summer is here! Now the weather just needs to warm up a little.

Memorial Day BBQ!

We had Tim's family over to our house for a Memorial Day BBQ. I bought more airplanes for all the cousins to decorate & play with. They all had so much fun with them. It was a nice evening, the weather was perfect and the food was yummy!
