Am I really doing this?!?

Yesterday was my orientation for the Nursing program at Ameritech. Tuesday, Sept 2 is the big day and I have a lot of mixed emotions about it, I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. Yesterday as I sat in the orientation amongst a room full of other students pursuing the same thing as me, I got a little emotional as it really sunk in, at that very moment, for the first time...I am in nursing school! I am finally getting the perfect opportunity to achieve something I have wanted since I was a little girl. It is a reality and it's HUGE for me. I think being older I can really appreciate this opportunity so much more. Knowing how bad I have wanted this for so long and regretting year after year that I didn't do this sooner. It's finally my time, my opportunity to do this for me and my little family. It was just sort of one of those moments I hope to never forget. I want to remember that moment, especially when things get tough, cause I know for a fact that they will, and I know I am going to need that encouragement that I do want this and I can do it. I have the best support system and I know it is going to be so important in my success. My kids are even excited and proud of their mommy, how awesome is that! I appreciate all my family so much for their support, prayers, excitement and love that they have given so far in just the acceptance process. Tim, you have been the best! I am so grateful and lucky to have such a supportive husband that is willing to sacrifice our crazy normal lives, routines and finances for me for the next 18 months. Here we go...!!!

Tyler's 1st football game of the season

Saturday was Digger Day which is the season opener for Jordan Digger's. They played against West Lake. Tyler was excited to play, he had some great tackles, perfect hikes, got his 1st penalty...and learned a lot. He played most of the game on offense and defense teams and only sat out when our team was kicking. The first half was awesome, second half wasn't quite as good, but it was a great game overall. This was the 1st game played for most of these boys and we think they did great! I can't wait to see how much these boys learn and improve on their game. We couldn't be more proud of Tyler.

My birthday...

We actually remembered to take some pictures on my birthday this year. It was a nice day...Tim and Zac went and bought donuts for breakfast. I got new bike, a new purse and Lindt chocolates from my family. We got to go to Tyler's 1st football game which I was so excited for. Then we went to Iceberg for lunch, Guardians of the Galaxy movie in the afternoon and then went to huHot for dinner. It was a fun day spent with my 4 favorite people!

Playin' in the rain...

The rain and cooler temperatures we've had lately have made for a nice break from the heat. It been a great August! Kayli and |Zac went out to play in it one evening during a down pour.

Tyler & Zac's 1st day of School

These two handsome boys are off to school! Tyler (4th grade) is not ready for summer to be over, which means he is not ready to start school. Zac on the other hand was so excited he couldn't sleep last night and couldn't wait to get there. Tim and I met Tyler's teacher and are excited for Tyler. I think she is going to be great! She is super organized, loves teaching and is working on her Master's in Education. He is such a good, hard working kid, it will be a fantastic year for him.
Zac (1st grade) was excited to see his friends, check out his classroom and meet his teacher. He has such an awesome, fun, loving personality and will do well. He was happy to see his name was spelled correctly on his desk so that's bonus points for his teacher. There were a few kids having melt downs in his class, I was just happy it wasn't Zac, it made saying goodbye to him and leaving him there so much easier. I knew it was going to be hard for me to have our baby gone all day, and not having anyone home with me during the day. I am sure going to miss this cute face during the day.

Kayli's 1st day of MIDDLE SCHOOL

Our beautiful Kayli had her first day of Middle School today. I am not sure how she grew up so quickly! She was so excited for today, and she is so ready for Middle School! She was excited to see her friends, have a locker, different classes/teachers, and all the other "freedom" Middle School brings. She called me from the bus on the way home from school to tell me she loved it! Her teachers are all really nice, she has friends in almost all her classes and lunch has sooo many choices. She is going to be just fine and I know she will have a great year!
Kayli getting to check out her new locker  and learn how to work a combination lock the week before school starts.

Blackridge, again!

We spent Saturday afternoon at Blackridge with my mom and sister's kids Kit and Scout. It was a beautiful day, and we all had a great time playing in the water and lounging on the beach.

 Kit and Kayli...cutest mermaids!
These boys had so much fun together in the water!

Ogden Temple Open House

Last Wednesday we were able to check off the last item on our summer bucket list...ride the FrontRunner. We rode it to Ogden to meet my mom and go to the Ogden Temple Open House. The kids thought it was fun, but took a long time. The Temple was amazing! I was so impressed. We loved being there to see it. My mom took us to lunch and then she rode the FrontRunner back with us. It was a great day!

Deer Creek

8/1/14 We spent the day at Deer Creek with Tim's family boating and playing in the water. We took our kayaks and my paddle board. Everyone seemed to have fun playing on all the toys!
 Kayli, Greyson and Brook
  McKay and Zac
 Kayli knee boarding
 Tyler knee boarding
Tori, Gavin and Zac lovin' the boat!

Lagoon Camping

We have been wanting to get some use out of our new pop-up trailer so we took it to the Lagoon Campground overnight and spent 2 days playing at Lagoon. We love our little pop-up! We had a fun time at Lagoon again.

Cliffhanger was actually open! All the years I have been to Lagoon this ride is never open, it was this time so we had to go on it. We got soaked! Kayli and Tyler went to go on it again right after, and it broke down, guess we got lucky twice..to ride it when we did, and that it didn't break down on us while riding it.

Football begins...

Tyler's first season of football started a few weeks ago. The first 4 days were try outs to figure out what team the kids are on and then they are placed on a team. Tyler did really well and is really enjoying it. He is playing Center on his team and his buddy Deacon is QB. Tyler plays hard and he has really surprised Tim and I. He has had practice 6 days a week 2 hours a day for 2 weeks now and hasn't complained once. He gets excited to go and gives it his all. His coaches are great! They love the game and love to teach these young boys how to play. Tyler is a tough kid and we are super proud of him and his hard work. He plays his first "Season Kick Off" game this Saturday, we are excited to go and watch him.
