Today was Tyler's first day of his second year of Preschool. He was very excited. This is a brand new Preschool in the neighborhood, and I am just so excited about it. Tyler's teacher "Ms Hillary" is great, and she is going to be an awesome teacher. She is wonderful with kids and has great ideas. She is also the Primary President in the ward, so we know she is fabulous. Tyler has a class full of neighborhood kids, so lots of friends to be made for sure!

What a handsome boy! I can't believe how big he is getting.

Kayli's First Day of First Grade

Wow, I can't believe we sent our little girl to school "All Day" for the first time this morning. Kayli is very excited to be in First Grade, but she was also a little nervous. I was thinking about her all day, hoping she was loving it and having a great time. We went to meet her teacher yesterday, and her teacher took her and some of the other kids on a little tour of the classroom, where to go when she gets off the bus, where the cafeteria was, etc. I hear so many great things about her teacher, I hope Kayli really loves the school year. Kayli is very lucky to be in class with 9 other kids from our neighborhood. I packed her first school lunch this morning and that is when it really hit me that she has really grown up and is also going to be gone all day, Sniff Sniff. Why do they have to grow up so fast!

When Kayli got home today she said she had a great day! She had so much to talk about. I asked her what her favorite part of the day was and she said lunch. It must have been a pretty good PB&J sandwich I made her...He He! I was so happy that she had a good day and loved school. I just hope it lasts all year!

Going for a ride

I just wanted to post this cute picture of Zach. I was vacuuming the other day and he tried to climb on the vacuum. I found out that Tim had put him on the vacuum when he was vacuuming a few weeks ago. He thinks it's great. (16 months)

Another year

Yep, today was my birthday. I am not sure I am too excited about turning another year older, but I had a nice day. We spent the whole day at home together, playing and watching a movie with the kids.
Tim's parents came and watched the kids Saturday night so Tim and I went to a movie (500 Days of Summer) and then to a Mexican restaurant. It was a nice evening just the two of us. When we got home Kayli ran upstairs and told me they had a surprise.
Kayli had the idea to decorate with balloons and streamers like we always do for their birthdays, so they decorated the family room for me. It was a fun surprise. She even planned a balloon game for us to play. So creative!
I wanted to do something fun with our kids so I had them make my birthday cake with a little help and then we baked them and then we let them each decorate a cake any way they wanted. I got all the sprinkles out of the cupboard, and had bought some shimmery gel, and let them do what they wanted. Kayli wanted pink frosting and Tyler wanted blue. They turned out very fun. They loved it. Tyler's was done in no time and Kayli really put a lot of thought and time into hers. They both turned out so cute, and I loved what they did. It tasted soo good as well. Thanks everyone for the fun day. I have the best husband and kids! Lucky me!!!

Kayli's cake!

Tyler's cake!

Anyone who knows Tyler knows he has an obsession with "squishy" toys. Tim took the kids to let them pick out whatever they wanted to get me, and this is what Tyler picked...squishy hand, foot, eye, tongue and nose. Let's just say the most unique gift I have ever recieved. Of course he played with them all day.

Kayli bought me this jewelry box which she painted and decorated herself. Love it!

Ice Blocking and Pizza

My neighbor Kristie invited a bunch of us "mom friends" and our kids over to go ice blocking down the hill in thier backyard and then ordered pizza for everyone for lunch. My kids didn't understand what we were doing until we got there and showed them. They had a lot of fun with lots of other friends. Ice blocking, running around, rolling down the hill, playing, the kids had so much fun. It was fun to sit and chat with my friends as well. What a great idea.

Kayli's looses her first tooth!

Kayli was so excited when she got her first "wiggly" tooth while we were on vacation in Mexico. Finally a month and a half later it is out. Sunday she let me wiggle it around and I pulled it out. She thought it was going to hurt, but she didn't even know I had pulled it, until she saw it in my hand. She was very excited that the "Tooth Fairy" came to visit that night. Too bad her 8 year old cousin told her the next day that mom's are the tooth fairy. Oops!

Swim Lessons

This summer Kayli and Tyler took swimming lessons at a private pool. They both did soo great. Kayli is swimming on her own and Tyler is still trying to get used to sticking his face in the water. It was fun to go and watch how much they learned in just a few weeks. Their favorite part was jumping off the diving board.

Family Camping Trip

This weekend had to be our funnest camping trip together. We reserved a site up at Tanner's Flat. We went on lots of little hikes on trails all throughout the camp area, played by the river, we created a treasure hunt for Kayli and Tyler, and just really enjoyed spending time together with out little family. It was so beautiful, peaceful and "cool" in the canyon. Tim's parents came up and spent the last night with us. They made us a yummy dutch oven dinner, they took Kayli and Tyler for a hike and then we had s'mores and spent the evening sitting around the fire. It was such a fun weekend.

What a CUTE boy

We had lots of little chipmunk and squirrel friends running all around us, so Tim helped Kayli and Tyler build a trap, just to see if we could catch one. They had a box, a string and a peice of wood. Tyler was so determined to catch one he just sat there waiting and waiting. They put chips and rice cakes under the box to help lure them in. Sure enough one was finally caught, of course we let the little guy go, and Kayli and Tyler were very excited they caught one.
