Zach's Surgery

Zach had his tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes replaced in his ears today at Primary Children's Outpatient Hospital in Riverton. We had a lot of nerves and anxiety about the surgery. I just felt so bad that he had to go in and have this done and not understand why he was hurting when he woke up. The nurses and staff are so great and make you feel so comfortable, and took such great care of Zach. When we arrived they took him back and we had to put him in some not so cool pj's He didn't want to change so I told Zach they were super pajamas and super socks that would make him super fast and jump super high. He thought that was pretty cool.

When the nurse came in to do vitals and talk about the procedure with us Zach was hiding in the corner under his blanket hoping she wouldn't find him.

After waiting for a few minutes in the waiting room they gave him Versed to help sedate him to help with separation from mom and dad, make going with the Anesthesiologist easier, and also so he wouldn't remember much of what was going on. Tim and I noticed the second it started working. He was like our drunk little man. He wanted to get down and play but could barely hold his head up. We were laughing so hard. Which was nice to help calm our nerves.

Zach resting with daddy after the surgery. He woke up from anesthesia upset and confused, which is expected. They let me go back to recovery to hold him and comfort him and I got him to fall back asleep, when he woke up again, he was much happier, just drowsy.

t
He did well in surgery and all went as hoped. Now we just hope for a quick easy recovery for our little Zach.

Kayli's Art Class

Kayli and her friend Berklee decided to teach an art class once a week. So they went around to some of the close neighbors to see of some of the little girl's wanted to come to their class. They have 5 girl's in their class every Monday after school and Kayli's comes up with an Art or Craft Project to do with them. She loves it and the girl's have fun as well.

HaLLowEEn! 2011

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. The weather was perfect too. The kids had school parties and parades, and then we went Trick or Treating of course.
Kayli as a "Fairy" (8)

Those who know Kayli know the more glitter and sparkle the better. She had pretty shimmery eyelashes we put on her, and lots of glitter spray. She looked so pretty!

Zach was Robin for Trick or Treating instead of a Mad Scientist (3)

This is a picture we took before the ward party. Zach had two costumes this year. He didn't really like us making his hair crazy and white. So he was Robin for his Preschool Party and Trick or Treating.
