Stadium of Fire 2017

July 2017
Stadium of Fire
I've wanted to go to Stadium of Fire for several years, so we finally did it. It's super pricey, but it was such an awesome night! The entertainment was fun, and the fireworks were amazing.

YW Camp 2017

June 27-30, 2017
Camp Liberty
I was so excited to go to YW camp this year, for so many reasons. I was mostly excited to be able to go with Kayli. I do think we have the most amazing group of YW. I seriously feel so blessed I get to be in YW and I am so happy Kayli is surrounded by so many awesome girls. The other YW leaders are all amazing and so much fun, everyone has different strengths, and it just makes it a perfect mix.

We hiked to this waterfall, it was so pretty! We were going to have a devotional at the waterfall, but it was a little squishy for all 50 something of us.

These girls wanted to sleep in the hammocks, but a few of the leaders didn't think it was a good idea, apparently they must have snuck out to the hammocks after the leaders were in their tent. I may or may not have known about this, and I may or may not have helped them ha ha. I learned at this YW camp there is a little bit of rebel in me still from my YW days, sometimes you just gotta have a little fun. The girl's had a good point...the YM sleep in hammocks at camp.
We did a lot of fun crafts at camp and also had a color war. The girls loved it and had so much fun!

We also taped glow sticks to all the girls to make them look like stick figures and ran around the camp ground.

Kayli and her BFF's Jane and Addy

I have been to a lot of YW camps, and this one was the best by far. The campsite was beautiful, we had amazing food (prepared by our very own camp cooks), we had a lot of fun activities, the devotionals were so good, the hike was tough, but worth it, and all 44 of these girls get a long so incredibly well. Kayli and I didn't want camp to be over!

Camping, sort of

June 2017
We had camping reserved at Spruce's but couldn't stay the entire time, so we spent all of Saturday playing around at our campsite. It was nice up there and we had a lot of fun hiking, playing hide and go seek, sitting around the fire and smore's of course.

 (that hair?!?!)

Finished Basement...FINALLY

June 2017
Our basement is finally complete and we are happy with how it turned out. It seemed to take forever and we almost ran out of patience, but we love it and love spending time down there. We finished a family room, bathroom, 2 bedrooms. The craftroom/laundry room still need cabinets and flooring put down, but that's on the back burner for now. Kayli and Tyler love being downstairs, and their rooms are slowly getting decor.

Kayli plays Pioneer

Trek June 15-17, 2017
Kayli had mixed emotions about going on Trek, but she went and had some great experiences, her favorite was the "Women's Pull;" she said it was a very cool experience. She made some great friends and became close to her "family." She was happy to be home, but glad she went.

Last Day of School 2017

June 2, 2017 Last Day of School
Tyler 6th, Zac 3rd
They survived the year at a new school. Tyler had an amazing teacher, Mr. Gardner. He learned a lot, made a lot of new friends, and is excited to move on to Middle School, for real this time. They did a clap out on the last day of school for the 6th graders, it was cool and stirred some emotions for those moving on.
Zac has had better school years. He just got the wrong teacher this year. He did make a lot of new friends; we are hoping for a better teacher and better year next year.

Kayli 8th grade, ended up having a great year after all, it was tough on her going to a new school and having to make all new friends, but she made more friends than she imagined she ever would. She excelled in her grades, made Honor Roll every term, and was selected for the National Junior Honor Society Student Council.

Stem District Finals

Jordan School District Stem Project Finals
May 2017
Tyler and his friend Kaiden won a hover craft contest out of the 6th graders at his school, so they got to go to the District Finals. Their hover craft didn't win, but it's pretty cool he made it that far! They had lots of other hands on projects and experiments for the kids to play with. Nice work Tyler!

Zac's Pinewood Derby 2017

May 18, 2017
Zac's Cub Scout Troop had their Pinewood Derby last week. Zac named his awesome orange car Fiery Metal. Tim worked hard on this car with a little help from Zac too. Zac placed 4th out of 24 boys. So he went to the final round and won 3rd place overall. This was the best Pinewood Derby I think we've been to. It was a lot of fun and the boys had some really cool cars. It was cool to see the results after each race on the big screen. Zac was very proud of his car and excited to win 3rd Place!
